And these are from a gorgeous wedding in Wiltshire in June. Heavenly. Don't you love the impish flower girls! Clare and Rich sent me a disc today with loads of lovely photos taken by Chloe Browne at Caught the Light. And, a gorgeous tin of F and M biscuits. Thanks, very much appreciated!

Abiand Tom
Lovely when a photographer gets in touch out of the blue just to say how much they like the flowers. Here's a couple from Nanette Hepburn www.hepburnphotography.co.uk from Abi and Tom's wedding at Usk in late July - I only did bouquets and some loose flowers, this is the bride's bouquet and one of the bridesmaid posies. Abi had particularly asked for "sprinkly flowers" which is how I now describe one style of bouquet!

A very charming very short film of bits of the gardens just as we were opening the gates at the end of July, thanks so much to Mr Veg himself, Charlie Hicks www.charliehicks.com

Deluge outside, delightful inside
Could it rain harder today?
I have been watching the weather as ever so did most picking yesterday for flower prep today, just leaping out of the house before 5am to catch some more white phlox and dahlias before the next great skyburst.
It was horrendous outside almost all day. But delightful in the packing shed. Though Mouse the dog wasn't a great deal of help.

This is what makes it so worthwhile
Lovely email in from a bride who received packages of flowers by mail order for her wedding last weekend:
Hi Charlie,I just wanted to let you know how beautiful the flowers were for our big day! Amazing! They really were everything I imagined and smelt wonderful, the packaging was so good that they looked as if they had literally just been picked that morning!Everyone commented on how wonderful they were and even my photographer and makeup artist have asked for your details!I have attached a couple of pics so you can see what they looked like - better pictures obviously to follow (if you would like) as these were not flower focussed!Thank you, thank you, thank you for making the look of our day so special.

If you want to get ahead get a hat
I'm thinking about hats for Joe and Daisy's wedding. Currently obsessing about floral art rather than felt or feathers.

Open Day passes
Thanks to everyone who came to our Open Weekend, the sun shone and we raised hundreds of pounds for Marie Curie, thanks to all who helped. Sorry about no photos, I'd lost my camera but it has since reappeared.....
Blasted rain continues. Work continues for us all in waterproofs. Lots of flowers blooming and I have become totally brilliant at finding those windows between rain downpours to pick. Today we picked phlox, agapanthus, herbs, echinacea, francoa, cornflowers, ammi, dill, heleniums, snow in summer, roses.........Please will someone turn the taps off.
